Out East Porsche Club Meet – Sun 21st Apr 2019

I think my 48 year old 911 is magically mutating into a Plug-In-Hybrid! The Yellow Peril only seems to start reliably if both of Mr Bosch’s best batteries are brimful of volts ……….. which can be a little inconvenient at times.

Thankfully – removal of the batteries and a couple of days of trickle charging revived them sufficiently to resuscitate the slumbering Peril to get me to (and from) the Third Sunday In The Month sojourn to the Porsche Club’s Far-East(er) meet (Hackney Wick almost qualifies as being oriental).

Out East! Porsche Club Meet – Sun 18th Nov 2018

Mild and sunny November weather was the final enticement I needed to go Out East with the Yellow Peril.

Nick and Ed Pike (organisers of the Porsche Club London Region) hunted down this great venue some months back and the 3rd Sunday in the month meet seems to have become very popular with club members. It’s far less frenetic than the former Smithfield venue i.e. no stroppy traffic wardens!

Silverstone Classic – Sat 25th & Sun 26th Jul 2015

Fried On Saturday, Frozen On Sunday

Craig David lyric? Noooo – just a meteorological description of my two days at Silverstone Classic.

High Summer weather in the frozen tundra of rural Northamptonshire ebbed & flowed from cold & extremely wet on Friday, warm and sunny on Saturday and back again to cold and wet on Sunday.

It was a real shame for the competitors who struggled to have any meaningful practice/qualifying runs on Friday, then had to switch to dry set-up on Saturday and back to decidedly-soggy set-up on Sunday. Less than ideal conditions but not bad enough to deter stoic participants and spectators!
